DVCPRO & DVCPRO50 on HVX

What is the difference between DVCPRO & DVCPRO50? I would rather not shoot SD, but I'm going to Japan in September and I only have one 4gig. P2 card, the majority of my money will be spent on the trip so no money for a Firestore. I would like to document my trip in the best way possible (under my circumstances). What are the benefits and disadvantages of each format?

DVCPRO 25 has 4:1:1 color space. That means that for every four parts Luminance (black and white) you have only one part Chroma (color). DVCPRO 50 doubles your color space which makes it 4:2:2. The benefit to DVCPRO fifty is just that, you can notice a considerable difference in color as compared to DVCPRO 25. However, double the color resolution = twice as much data. So on a 4GB card, you can get 16min of record time, DVCPRO 50 only 8min. If you end up deciding to go with DVCPRO25, my recommendation would be to run a dv tape. You get 63min of record time with one of those. If you come across something that you really want to get some higher quality footage of, use your card.

EDIT (Just to clarify some things): Some other reasons why DVCPRO 50 is better is that there is less compression taking place. DVCPRO 25 has 5.5:1 compression whereas DVCPRO 50 has 3.3:1 compression. DVCPRO 50 also has four channels of digital audio whereas DVCPRO 25 only has two.
