I mean, what if you're wrong? Such speculation can get people hurt. No one here owns an HVX or even has a manual. Think about it, why on earth would Panasonic offer DVCpro50 if it couldn't be recorded to tape? okay okay, maybe it's only for P2 recording, but maybe you CAN shoot to mini dv! or maybe you can shoot to mini DV but it just won't be recorded on the tape! I think there a lot of possibilities here and we should all hold our hoses until panasonic chimes in with an authorative declaratory statement. I'm just trying to be the voice of reason and sobriety here--kind of like Judge Judy.

Sir, with the uttermost respect, all I'm saying is error on the side of precaution. Like your grandmother said, "An ounce of prevention is worth five liters of cure". Until Sony reps chime in with a declarative statement on P2 and dvcPro I think we should show caution to the wind and not make assumptions. By the way, does the HVX record Digibeta?
DVCpro 50 = 50Mbps.....MiniDV = 25Mbps. Impossible to fit DVCpro50 on MiniDV tape. The End.

Wouldn't that rather be a Mc Chicken truck?
