Re: DVC80 Or DVX100 ?

DVC80's been discontinued, replaced by the DVC30.

The DVC80 was a similar camera, but lacking a lot of features (like 24P, 30P, CineGamma, the ability to control external decks, the ability to disable the audio limiter circuit, a bunch of little things). An incredible camera anyways, and easily a better cam than the competition (Sony VX2000), but it's not quite in the same league as the 100A.

If you want a DVC80 you can look around, some dealers may still have some stock they haven't sold yet, but it's been discontinued.

Once I went progressive there was no looking back.

(30p 24p 24pa) The P must stand for perfection!

Ahhhh perfection!

I do wish they would come out with a 60p so that you can capture super fast action in slow mo with almost no motion blur. That would be cool. :P

Re: DVC80 Or DVX100 ?

They've made other less expensive 60P cameras before, there was one that was 480/60P a couple of years ago... plus that horrible JVC "HD" camera can do 60P in standard-def resolution, so maybe someday your wish will be granted.
