I'm having trouble either with the logging of my footage or incorrect displaying in quicktime. The footage is recorded on my DVC80 in 16:9 letterboxed mode. Therefore it should display as 720 x 480 (640 x 480 in square pixels) However in quicktime my raw footage is displayed as 853 x 480 (as if it were 16:9 natively) and it is quite stretched horizontally. Quicktime inspector shows it as 720 x 480 but 853 x 480 actual. The log settings in FCP are normal for DV (same as I use for my VX2100 while shooting normal, non widescreen DV) Also footage displays correctly in FCP, although once its exported, it is still displayed as 853 x 480 in quicktime. This is baffling.
