Dvc30?

I have been using a DVX100B, but am in need of a smaller camera, for certain situations. Am thinking about the DVC30, but am a little worried that Panasonic will come out with a small DVC30 size HD camera which would be great, unless I bought the DVC30 the month before it comes out.
Any thoughts?

if all you need is a second cam for like pov shots the dvc30 is great or even the pv953 if you can still find one that is would make a great 2nd cam. also the dvc80 would make a great 2nd cam.

I picked up a 30 before getting my 100b, and its been a great camera. Very light around 2lbs, frame mode looks good but dosnt compare to the dvx.

Add my sentiments to those above. the 30 is a nice little camera. 953 is nice too, but the chips are a bit bigger in the 30, plus it (30) gives you scene files like the DVX.

I wish there was some sample footage like the 100 on here so I could see what the dv30 is like..

=8-D

It is clean.. not enough 'blowing out focus on the background' I would like.. but it is definately higher in quality than most video cameras I have seen. I can see the quality being familiar with the dvx100.

I just joined My Space as well - Cutting Edge Films. James Whitley.

I also have a dvc30 and just bought the dvx.
Here is a quick video I did for my church last year -- I didn't do anything special and it was quickly thrown together.

Another plus to the dvc30 is that it can use the same batteries as the dvx and my varizoom rocker works with it too. :)

For mine, i really didn't try to go for any shallow dep. I have the problem of always wanting to be close to my subjects. Haha.
