Anyone and everyone that can fill me in: What processor would your recommend for Avid--Pentium 4 or Athlon 64? What speed? Dual or single core?

I've got to make a purchase and I'm wondering what people out there are using.

Did you have any problems when you first installed Avid? Were there any situations that popped up for you that an Intel user wouldn't encounter? How do you like your Avid compared to FCP?
