Hey Everyone,

I was trying to render a project to a .wmv file using HD resolution (1280x720) in Vegas. The clip was captured in 24p (File Scene 6) and plays fine when rendered normally.

But for some reason when bumping up the res to HD and rendering to a file, the playback (in Windows Media Player) is... strange.

It'll play a few frames, then freeze for a bit, then play a few more frames, then freeze a bit...

I tried a couple of different clips but all have the same result. I also tried rendering to a .mov file (oh, the heresy of that!) but no luck. I'm wondering if maybe my machine/graphics card aren't man enough to handle the playback or is there something else?

Anyone have any ideas? I appreciate your thoughts!

Derek

Yup, HD rez is not the easiest thing for one's computer to play. Depending on your computer's configuration, you will not be able to smoothly playback HD rez footage. :(

My old system was a PIII 600mHz with 768mb of RAM, 13Gb HD. Graphics card? What graphics card? (in truth, it was a top of the line 16mb card from 1999).

I had it up until early last year when it was replaced by my current system.
I edited with Vegas (and Avid) on it.

That was me :D The PII 400 MHZ worked really well with vegas. But it was slow. I finally upgraded to a P4 2.8.
