dv tape capture from hvx

All,
I just bought I used HVX and recently shot for the first time on DV. I can't seem to get my footage to capture to FCP 6.0.6, and I don't have the manual. Anyone want to walk me through this? I tried all the normal avenues and nothing is working out for me.
