I noticed that there aren't too many photos of the XLR microphone adapter from this angle, so I decided to show it:

Curious, how does it attach to the handle?

There appears to be some sort of metal clip between the handle and the XLR adapter. While I was at DV Expo, I didn't look too closely to see how they were connected.

Thanks. There is nothing under the handle to attach to, so I would assume that the adapter must come with something that screws into it as there are two holes underneath. Maybe someone that already has it can chime in? I hope to get one in the next few weeks.

Anyone use the neck strap with the HMC40/150 or other cameras?

I use the neck strap on my 150 on occasion. looking for something a bit bigger and more comfortable though.

I use a Tamrac Neoprene straps on my DSLR. It is comfortable and nice because it has quick releases for when you don't want to use it. Might have to try one on the 40.

There are two holes under the handle. On pg 82 of the HMC40 users guide, it shows the how to attach the XLR adapter. It slides onto a connector - the diagram sucks, but it looks like the connector is similar to the cameras shoe.

I use the neck strap on my HMC40 sometimes. There are two ways of attaching it (1) to the back (2) to the back and the handle. I tried #2 first but the camera hangs a bit uncomfortably when attached to the handle. So, #1 it is for me.

Hi Shphotovideo, actually there is. There's this stainless metal that attaches to the accessory shoe of the DVC30 and the HMC40. I happen to have the AG-MYA30G which i bought right after I got my DVC30. Here are the pics. Thanks!
