DV Control

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 to edit, and I didn't have success last time i tried to import from my DVX100B. I had to replace it, but under "Other Functions", Should DV control be on OFF, EXT, BOTH, or CHAIN? What do all those mean?

im pretty sure DV control should be set to anything but off for it to work as a deck.

DV Control should be OFF for all normal operations. The DV Control is designed for use as a controller for other cameras connected to the DVX. Read here for uses of the DV Control:
