DV 50 24p

What am I missing here? I should be able to shoot DV50 24p right. I set the Rec Format to 480i/24p and Record Mode to DVCPRO 50. When i import them, the VID RATE says 29.97

I used to shoot my DVX-100 in 24p and capture 29.97 and edit in a 29.97 timeline.

I have the same problem. I was recapturing my video on Final Cut and also Premiere and it is still at 29.97 eventhough I recorded at 24p ... I'm a rookie, sorry.
 
DV50 always gets recorded as 29.97 (or more accurately, 59.94i). You have to use an editing program that understands 24p footage, and instruct it to remove the pulldown.

Barry, any idea what that means in FCP 5.1.1? BTW, i have your book for the 100 it's great! When's the 200 bible coming out?

Forgot this part. Just to clarify what i know. In FCP you do that on capture when using tape. How does one do that with P2 import?

Well... wich program do you thik does this job better, in PC?
 
For the PC, Edius.
But it's color correction is weak compared to FCP.
I was a long time PC user and switching to the MAC
to use the HVX & FCP was a no brainer.
