Dust spot on sensor

After less than a year of very light use, I am returning one of my DVx200 because of a large dust spot that has appeared on the sensor. I am wondering how common an occurrence this is given the fact that the DVX200 sensor is in a sealed system. Has anyone else had this problem? The spot is in all my footage from a weekend job, and is in the lower third of the frame. Luckily I recorded in 4k, so I should be able "frame out" the spot, but I am wondering how something like this could have happened. Any ideas? Oh yes, I am sure it is the sensor.

Panasonic has confirmed that is dust on the sensor. They are replacing the whole lens and sensor system because they don't have a clean room to dissemble the lens/sensor. My lens/sensor is being sent back to Japan for "investigation." I must say that Panasonic is being really great about this, getting to the problem quickly and repairing quickly. Should have it back by the end of the week. Apparently dust on 4k sensors is a problem for all the manufacturers during assembly!

Considering everything that could go wrong manufacturing such a prime example of precision engineering as a DVX200, I'm glad that a bit of dust on the sensor is all that went wrong! Panasonic really is a great company that listens to its customers. Glad you're getting it all settled.
