Dust on lens/filter

I recently shot a music video and noticed (during editing) that in one of the shots (wide angle, sun in lens) there are lots of visible dust particles.

When I bought the camera I also got a UV filter which I put on as soon as I got it out of the box (the camera:).

I cleaned the filter but some dust is still visible at the right angle/light conditions.

I am not thrilled by the idea that I might have to clean the camera lens (and remove the lens "protector").

How should I approach this? I do have the extra 2 year warranty which gives me yearly cleaning but don't feel like sending my 2 week old DVX100A to New Jersey just for this.

Is there a place in Los Angeles where I can get it cleaned for a reasonable price? How do you resolve the dust spec problem? Lense cloths, cleaning solutions etc?

Thank you.

Re: Dust on lens/filter

use a blower... one of those air canisters you can pick up almost anywhere. That should get the dust off. You dont need to send your camera back for cleaning.

And, if you are seeing dust, you need to use a flag to block the flares hitting your lens.
