Dust inside lens

I apologize in advance for the long windedness of this post, here goes:

Basicaly there is a single speck of dust on the inside of my DVX lens. it's smack bang in the middle of the 2nd lens element, (i think it's probably on the backside of the glass and will have come in through the zoom mechanism)

most of the time it is'nt a problem, however it will show up as a black blotch occasionaly, generally under sunlight with the lens set at its widest 30% when using smaller appertures. it's quite easy to work around using the ND filters and higher shutter speeds, but it's still annoying being limited to shooting using a certain setup in order to avoid having this damned tiny little speck show up as a great black blotch on my footage.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem, (sending it for repair is out of the question as it'll probably cost almost as much as the camera is worth to sort it out and it's no longer under warranty) i'm quite handy technically but am hesitant to fully open the cam without some kind of guide or service manual (tried getting in from the front by removing the focus servo and zoom mech, but as i discovered you can't get to the backside of the lens this way)

I found the following solution in another thread about the same problem, it sounds risky to say the least, anyone know if it actually works without murdering your cam in the process?

" Fear not. I had the same problem and here's how to fix it.

Put your camera in a plastic bag or airtight box and then put it in the deep freeze. This freezes and 'dries' any moisture that is holding the dust to the glass. Leave it for about an hour to freeze, take it out as quick as you can and just tap the lens, the dust WILL fall off(if it hasn't already)
I do this to my camera at least once a month as I shoot outdoor sports.

People will say "no!!! it will ruin your camera putting it in the freezer!!!!" to which I always point out that going out in the cold doesn't ruin your camera - I shot a job in Canada when it was minus 30....... "

so cheers for reading this if you made it to the end, and any help would be much appreciated

Maybe try the deep freeze. I think that I might want to try it, as I am sure there are things that could come off. Even if they aren't noticeable (yet)! Do you think it will work in the regular freezer?

regular freezer would only go about 5 below C*

but that should still do the trick

also try DRY ICE in a foam cube....

Thanks for the offer, but i live in england so this would obviously not be feasable for me. just out interest though, what is the usual procedure for doing this kind of fix, do you actualy go inside the lens or just replace it?
