Duplicated Sequence

I recently upgraded from version 3.5 to version 5.0.3. When I try to play a sequence I get a message saying "this section will be duplicated and the following will be updated". When I click ok it makes a duplicate sequence, which I can play in the timeline just fine, however I can't get video from the timeline to play out to the monitor, I get audio, and only see the video when the timeline is paused.

When I capture new video that plays just fine. No issues. It is only a problem with the old sequences.

I uninstalled 5.0.3 and upgraded to 5.0.3.5 which is supposed to fix this issue, but it didn't. Anyone else ever have this problem? How did you fix it? I posted to Avid but the only answer so far has been to upgrade to the version I already did.

I only see this with stuff that needs to be rendered. Have you rendered the timeline?

I've noticed numerous people having trouble with 5.0.3x. That's why I stayed at 5.0x. No problems.

I just figured out the video output problem I was having. I went into my Preferences and selected Video Display. In there the Real-Time Encoding box was unchecked. I don't even remember this option in version 3.5. But once I checked the box the sequences play fine to the output device.

Now I just need to figure out a way to NOT have to duplicate all my old sequences.
