So a client came to me with an issue. While doing 2K RAW 23.98 in SLOG2 the Odyssey 7Q was bumped and lost its battery. After setting it back up and turning it back on the "request to recover media" popped up. This was executed successfully. In the clip list it was clip "33". The shoot went on. Well it turns out there are TWO clip "33's". You can see this in the playlist in the Odyssey 7Q. They are different files with different lengths and play back appropriately. BUT when you bring it onto a Mac it only sees the first shorter clip. And that shot is cut short. As for the second clip it is never shown. Bring it on to a PC and you see two clip "33's" but they both have the info of the first clip. IE is seems the registry values for the longer clip are completely in line with the first shorter clip. And when you try to open the second clip it opens up the first one. So the computer is also being directed to the shorter clip's location as well.
Our impromptu solution is streaming out the playback of the second longer clip to a Samurai Blade. It is a bit squished but acceptable. I think next we will try to cut the shorter first clip out on the PC, leaving us physically with only the longer second one. I hope that this works BUT I'm thinking the computer will see some value directing it to the clip that no longer exists and it will give us an error.
So recapping the battery came off. This obviously is not normal so it shouldnt' be considered a big issue. But it seems there was an issue with the file recovery here. The O7Q knows what is going on but the file structure is such that a computer cannot deal with it. Hope this helps anyone! I will post results later.
