Dumb battery grip for a7s

Do you know of a dumb battery grip for the a7s? The Sony($300) one is way too expensive just to house batteries.

Brought one of these on a chance, gotta say I'm fairly impressed. Comming from shooting on a 5d, the a7s feels so much better with a battery grip on it.

I've been contemplating selling my original Sony battery grip and buying the new Meike version to save a few dollars. Glad to hear it's working for you.

Now that you have experience with it are you still enamoured with it?

I got one similar. Got it because I needed more grip and wanted to be able to tilt the screen on a tripod as well as make use of an anti-twist solution.

I was thinking about waiting for the Atomos power station, but it looks like the meike battery grip might be the way to go. I just know with the atomos station I won't have to change out batteries every 45 minutes like I will with the battery grip. The xlr adapter drains the batts even quicker. I think the con of the atomos power station is that the build is kinda wonky. It could be weird for handheld.

And the quality of it is surprisingly great for the price. It comes with a separate interval remote which is handy and the custom button shutter button are nice and sturdy. The grip it self is tough and straight away gives you that added confidence that the camera wont slip from your hand. I have a shoot this weekend so ill let you know how it goes.
