Dubbing to HDV/ HD to Tape workflow questions.

Hi Everyone, I made a search and couldn't find exactly the answer I was looking for. I'm currently working for a client that wants all the footage I am shooting to be eventually given to him in 1080i HDV. Does anyone have experience transferring P2 to FCP then outputting/dubbing the raw footage to an HDV camera? That was the solution I was able to come up with off the top of my head.

I am aware of the quality degradation issues with HDV, but I am only going off the client request. Any suggestions for the cheapest method to do this?

Or if there is another way to shoot/transfer HD footage to tape (preferably HDV/MiniDV) from an HVX200A?

Also, please note any technical problems that could arise from this workflow, that would be an immense help. Thanks.

Option 1 - Go with your first instinct and run everything through FCP, print-to-tape.
Option 2 - Convince him how much time/money/hassle it will save him (and you) to simply mail him a hard drive that he pays for (and then owns). HDD is now cheaper per hour than tape, significantly less capture time, no image degradation, etc. If it's a small amount of footage, a USB flash drive or SDHC card can be used instead. Extra points if you bring up that you need to invoice him for the time you spend printing to HDV.
