I have some tapes that have stops and starts and I need to make a copy with continuous timecode. I thought I had the settings right on the DVX but for some reason it only recorded the first 18 seconds. Also, does it matter what the mode is set to on the view finder? My settings were 1394 TC REGEN-OFF, TC MODE-NDF, TCG-REC RUN, FIRST REC TC-REGEN. Does something need to be changed? I am using Barry's book for reference but I don't know what I did wrong.
By the way I am dubbing from a Sony consumer cam to a DVX100B cam. I also have a DVC80 that I could use if needed. Just don't want to waste the hours on the heads. Thanks for any help!
