I cannot dub 720p 24pn footage to mini dv....not sure why?
I realize this seems like a standard question and I have been told you can do it....
I have been trying to do this with no luck and have searched on these boards for an answer.....I also own barry green's dvd and his book and I can't seem to get it????????
I have footage shot on p2 cards that is 720p 24pn footage
I take a blank tape put it in the hvx
I set the camera to be 720p 24pn in record mode
once i toggle the switch over to tape from p2 on the back it says, "media SW changed turn power off"
I turn the camera off and when i turn it back on the camera is in tape mode basically and the only recording choices i have are in 480i modes
i toggle to vcr which is a blue screen
then i toggle to dub which brings up all my 720p 24pn clips but they are all highlighted in RED
The book says to go to FORMAT SEL menu....where is this menu????? when in this mode I can't go to anything....i'm stuck here....how do i get this clip to dub down to minidv? Once I switch over to tape mode and I go to record setup it only lets me choose different 480i modes to record in...... (I do make sure that camera is set to 720p 24pn mode before I start this whole process, but it still keeps the clips in red????)
I also deleted all my clips recorded in 1080i 60, 1 clip. Did the whole process of switching to tape shutting the camera off and on then going to dub and the 1 1080i 60 clip is also red. Not sure why I can't get the clips to play??????? once playable do i just hit record....someone please help??????
