Dual monitors.

I have a custom built computer. It has 2 monitor inputs and from what I've seen, they're both installed. But when I try to use 2 monitors, they won't work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

What do you mean they don't work. Like, neither of them turn on?
Have you tried "right clicking" on the desktop and entering the properties menu. Click on the advanced tab and you will see a graphic of the two monitors. Right click on the one that is not working and click, enable. From there you can adjust your color and resolution settings by clicking either on monitor 1 or 2.

I was scratching my head at this the other day as I was hooking up my first dual monitor setup for the first time, so don't feel alone!

I remember that even thought I found the properties menu with the individual monitor settings, it still didn't work for me until I clicked some kind of toggle that said something to the effect of "treat both monitors as one desktop"

Now it just boots with the desktop crossing both monitors.

It's difficult to get used to, but it really does increase productivity.

Hey Scharky, yeah I tried that. Right now I have one monitor working, but the other not.

Thanks JBarnes, I'm pretty good with computers, but now I feel LOST!! heh

Someone mentioned having to upgrade their video cards by going online?

If it helps anyone out, i found out I needed an adapter. Fixed it.
