DSLR's in a Dance Club?

I would like to set up DSLR's in a club and use them for event coverage and web casting. I plan on running them through decklink cards. I would like to record continuously through the night with HD quality wired through hdmi. Will dslr's handle that or will they overheat? Do these cameras have any automatic zoom capabilities. The cameras will be mounted on walls in a basic static position.

Thanks!

Anthony

There's the possibility that one will overheat, though I would imagine you'd be using the HDMI output the whole time and not actually record to the time.

There are no automatic zoom capabilities.

Not the tool I would choose for that job. A camcorder with great low light performance seems more reasonable to me.

I'd go for an EX1 or something similar instead, as Scalar says, DLSRs have their time and place, this probably isn't it.

This is why I asked. What HD lowlight cameras, on a budget, would you all suggest? Thank you

EX1 is a great recommendation, I was imagining something less expensive (consumer camcorder on a motorized stand) since it sounds like you want multiple cameras?

I'm also considering the purchase of a few Panasonic HDC-TM700's. We have a VIP Performance Room. I will also be doing live music videos. We are on a budget and I already own a HVX200. I want to mount two cameras on stage right and stage left that go into decklink cards using AVTake using hdmi. I have a potential client who's on Comcast and would like me to record the artists for potential broadcast. The sound will be going through it's own dedicated system in pro tools.

That might not be a bad choice, the TM700 on my short list to buy as a stage-mounted cam when I start shooting club shots. I would be interested in knowing how that works out for you...
