DSLR Rig & Gear

Nice rigs guys.
If you are looking to add your audio recorder, shotgun, and wireless receiver to your rig and still keep it a nice compact package please take a look at The J-Cube at www.thej-rod.com.
B&H is promoting The J-Rod brackets next week at their booth at NAB, so please stop in and take a look first hand.

I really get a kick out of seeing everybody sticking all the stuff to a poor DSLR body :)
I do the same and sometimes it feels so silly trying to conform a 7D to a filmcamera.

Great to see images of how each and every film maker rigs their cameras. Really helpful.

I pretty much sold my entire kit because I never used it. I Had better luck and much smoother handheld using the neck strap technique. But that's just me and I have very steady hands. I love seeing these awesome rigs I just can't use them.
I'm 6'7" and shoulder mount anything is pretty much a no-go for me.

I like running with the camera and the viewfinder, nothing more. I have a Glidecam for longer moves.

Guys,

I am wondering about the ProAIM follow focus. Do you feel that it is sufficient for most day to day, documentary style shooting. Not thinking about making a feature here but need to have a decent way to get focus.

Also, those of you who have worked with CineCity, do you find them to be easy to work with and that they answer your questions on time?

I use the ProAim FF and it works perfectly fine for day to day shooting. I've used it on a short, a doc, a feature and a couple events and its worked well so far.

I didn't have many questions, but they did ship fast and it was well packaged. There are better follow focus' out there, but to be honest mine does what I need it to do and I've learned to adapt with the tiny bit of play it has.

You know what Richard

I believe my rig might the answer for what your looking for. Because my camera is set at a lower elevation rather than being perched up high it might just work a lot better for you. Only thing is you will need a monitor.

My setup is for use with a monitor. I prefer 1 over an eye piece personally so it's a perfect fit for me.
Those are nice setups... They allow the camera to move right and left match up with the eye? or more for use with a monitor...

Cool smallish rig. Seams great to shoot handheld when you're not having to feed a director/client with monitoring. Great that it even does have a FF unit on this little rig!

Ver nice. I was thinking about getting a T2i but was looking for a smaller rig for that 1. Nice! !
