DSLR Interview Worflow

I’m an avid guy and I am a DSLR noob too. Color me confused!

I shot an interview on the 60D that is one 10 minute clip. I would like to manually sync up the audio and video and then log the interview. I don’t have the $ for PluralEyes.

Is there a way to sync up the video & audio without generating any new media?

I did a lot of googling and I didn't come across a solution. I'll post my wordaround here in case somebody else come across this thread through a search.

-Sync up audio & video in timeline
-Export QT movie through FCP
-Current Video & Audio Setting
-Make sure to UNcheck “make video self-contained”
-Drag new media file into FCP
-Log clip with markers

Much easier:

Sync the video and audio in the time line and delete the original camera audio. Highlight both video and audio and use CMD+L to link them. Make a new bin for synced files, and drag the video and audio from the time line into the new bin.
