DSLR gains from the Nikon D7000: cross your fingers

The D7000 compression in the low light examples looks a bit heavier than the 5D. Maybe somebody :badputer: can hack it to around 75Mbps and it will really smoke the 5D if it doesn't catch on fire first. :violent5:
720p/60p would be very cool too, and live sound metering, what's with these camera companies don't they have ears?

It would be nice to know about the live hdmi output. I don' t know if you have the means to test it, but it would be nice to know if it is before of after compression.

Playback HDMI out is 1080i, presumably with added 3-2 pulldown.

Live HDMI out is 720p, even when the camera is at 1080p. I don't know if it's before or after compression, but it does include all of the data displays, including the roaming focus target. Also, the image area is reduced somewhat from the entire width of the 720p to accommodate the data displays on the edges.

Not sure about aliasing, because it seems to change from take to take, but definately better color tone and a bit more DR (as expected).

Don't know if you have a res chart to shoot, but it would be nice to see approximately what the effective resolution is.

Thanks to the lucky early adopters for all the info and footy here.

One major question for me: how are people monitoring sound?
Can you get live sound out of the AV jack?
Has anyone with an external monitor with HDMI feed and headphone jack verified that you can monitor sound through the external monitor?

And thanks for the lead on the SmallHD monitor - no wonder they are backordered. But I didn't see a headphone jack on their products, so I emailed a suggestion.
