I've ben having to freelance as my projects mature. With that has come the learning of DS Nitris.
There are many things I like, love and hate about it but in a nutshell it's a mix between today's MC and what use to be Jaleo. It's slower to edit down and dirty stuff on but that is not what it was made to do. It shines with compositing and my old Eddie days came in handy with DS' optional tree layout.
I see lots of Elastic Reality in it's morpher. I love it's use of expressions. Diggin' it's new realistic price point...

They just adapted it a bit to feel more like MC. It's greatest downgrade, imo.
I liked it fine before, interface-wise.
But, with rapidly dropping prices, DS is becoming a more realistic price point. While I could not sink 150k into one, I was ready to drop 70k on one just a few years ago. NOw one can get into one for a realistic fee and do well on it.
I would have liked to see some of the effects goodies trickle downward to MC but understand they are trying to hang on to what product line that is left.
