Dry Cleaning Cassete - how to use it

hi
i've bought an original minidv cleaning cassete from panasonic (AY-DVMCL). It's a "dry type".

Do you guys know how to use it with the dvx100?

Stick it in. Hit record/play button for 5-10 seconds. Take it out.

Don't use it too often, as it causes some minor wear on the heads. Once every 25-100 hours.

Don't rewind it. When you get to the end, throw it away.
 
do I hit PLAY/RECORD on VCR mode or REC on CAMERA MODE?

If I use it on VCR MODE, should I hit PLAY or PLAY+RECORD?
 
I think on my cleaning cassette, the record protect is popped out, making it impossible to record/play in camera mode. Bummer, I didn't know about not rewinding. Only used it twice though, so I should be ok. Thanks.

That is an easy fix. I use to do it with casette tapes that I wanted to record over. You just put a small piece of tape over the hole. Works like a charm.
