Drumming Doc Promo

Thanks everyone. We are excited about the doc. We are going across the country this fall and hanging out, and jamming with a huge list of A name drummers. Everything seems to be coming along really well. Now I just have to see if I can survive on a tour bus for a month.

I though I saw some aliasing on the part of the stick that is actually in his closed hand at 00:02:23...
Just kidding...
I love that it feels like not only a doc, but an instructional video also, like he's about to come on and describe technique. Also the cuts work well for maintaining pace and energy.
Great mix of panache and technicality.
I really want to see the guy ride the pocket, so I'm gonna need updates on this project.
Looks sick, really!

Thanks again everyone. Here is another track from the same shoot.
There is going to be constant updates by us and other drummers around the world. Chris is very well connected. There is a quick and dirty tumblr site at the moment. http://drumhang.com/ , with a much better site coming soon.

Another very cool clip.

Especially love how the stage lights get up into the undersides of the cymbals and hi hats. Nice lighting and very effective editing.

Nice. Very nice. Audio was very good too.

My question...Was this shot with a single camera or multiple cameras? Did the guy just play the track over and over and then you cut all the camera angle pieces together to match the audio track? It looks really really nice, so I was just curious about the techniques you used to shoot it.

Regards,

G.

Just one camera. He drummed with the rest of the audio track in the recording studio. These are tracks they have already recorded, so they just killed the drum tracks, and added the ones used for this performance.
