"druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

The music was specially composed by "the void of null haide"

http://www.vnh.goth-city.com

Film was shot in normal 4:3 mode and then letterboxed.
Exnihil studio site is under construction. There will be all info about this film and next films. U'll be allowed to download medium and high version of this film then.

Next film will be shot with my homemade static dof adapter :)

Thank you for all opinions :)

Nice work. Tell us some of your settings and technics.

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

Settings...

f6 + opportunely set white balance on every shoot.
Then footage was color corrected in AE. Some of the shots was made with glidecam[havy thing as hell... :) two days with it may cause seriously shoulders pain... :)]

Light in "white room" : 3x flood light
light in basement and "red room" : many directional lights from top.

It was rather an exercise to school than proffesional production... :) but we're producing new film with dialogues and readable sense :)

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

it is proof that if you plan what you shoot first and light properly, dvx can make a very impressive film, showing high production values. I love it.

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

Even as a low-res quicktime, I could tell that the picture looked great. Would like to see a higher-res copy. Loved the lighting and the shots, which looked rather well thought out...those are the things effective at achieving that "cinematic" feel.

Wasn't real excited by the "story", but liked it enough that I'm looking forward to seeing a copy with dialogue, which I'm sure will be the necessary element to tie it together and make it all the more engaging.

Overall, great job. Looked fantasic.

Uh oh, someone get a mop and clean up the floor cuz it got drool all over it!

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

Didn't understand it at all, but it looked fantastic. Like David lynch directing an episode of the x-files :) The hits in the music really sent shivers up my spine. Music really sold the fright in this thing.

I'd REALLY love to know how you compressed this for the web! It's a fairly large size image for a 17 meg file at 10 minutes in length. Please tell me what program you used for compression and post your settings!

Again, really nicely done.

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

great short..hehe feels very european.. :0 my only critique would be that there are few repetitive shots which could have been creatively reshot in another way. IE too many hands closeup consequently. I think this was little bit over done, and also I liked the stair shots when she is going down to the cellar I mean the sideway stairs (no the spiral stairs) but then when she is walking up it is the same shot just from the other side. Felt kinda cheezy. IMHO. Don't let these comments discourage you rather push your creativity to the next level and come up with some more bad @$$ shots. there were plenty of them in this short. very nice. THUMBS UP UP UP UP ;D ;D

Can't believe I missed this one! Great stuff - very nice and very very 'filmic'.

Always nice to see footage from fellow PAL'ers (the 25p posse!)

Re: "druga strona cienia" film on dvx100

Great work... I loved it and was happy to see another boost for the DVXuser. I did not have a problem with the repetitive shots at all... as a matter of fact when I did notice them, the only thing crossing my head was "this most be done by someone who plan his work and have good production time management."
I look forward to see more of your work. :)

Hey AndyJ, I'm shopping for a DVX and I wanted your thoughts on the versions of the DVX. I heard that the Pal version looks closer to film then the NTSC version. What do you guys think. I know that it might cost more money to convert it to our standard later, but I'm willing to if I can get the best picture.

By the way to Firre...CSZEC from a fellow Pol!! DOBRAE (spelling :-/) FILM! ;D
