Dropped Frames in Final Cut 3

Hi there... Question...

I've always been able to capture video shot in 24p from my DVX100 to my computer using Final Cut Pro 3. I haven't use either the camera or the software for a while and a few days ago I tried to capture some footage again and I get those annoying messages saying that frames have been dropped... Has this happened to any of you before? Is there a way to solve it? Thanks.
 
Versions of FCP prior to v5 do not capture very well with the latest OSX update -- 10.4.9. However, there is an easy fix -- try shutting off Spotlight for the directory to which you are capturing. This is explained on the Apple FCP discussion board. BTW, this probably should be posted in the FCP forum.
