For the most part No. As long as the camera is held relatively still or on a tripod. I did shoot some footage walking and from the back of a bumpy moving truck. Drop-out city in that case. I am wondering about how stable the connection is of the tape to the drum heads.
JVC mentions these 'advanced' heads in their brochure . . . I wonder how many hours they can go for without producing a dropout. If the GY-HD head holds up to that fact, then I'm sold on the NTSC version of the Camera.
