Dropframe settings

I read in the manual that when shooting in 24p/24pa that the timecode should automatically set itself to NDF. In my settings it is always set to drop frame with no apparent way to change it. Should I be concerned with this?
 
When your in 24p mode, If you look carefully the DF or NDF setting that you can change in 30i mode should be BLUED out not able to be changed. The camera automatically switches to DF and it may or may not be reflected properly in the menu, (hence the confusion).

Where is does get a bit fuzzy in my mind is when you shoot 30p does that stripe to tape in NDF or not? hmmmmm.
