Drop in wireless mic (Azden)

Is this option available for the HPX500. I notice there is a plate on top in the right position, but I have not seen any mention or picks with it included.

Thanks, Ian

I've just had a look at Panasonic's site, and it's not listed, so probably not.
Your best bet might be to enquire directly with Panasonic.

I'd be interested to know what the actual answer is. Let us know if/when you find out :)

FWIW, I just unscrewed the plate I think you're referring to, and found.... solid case underneath! Like no reason to HAVE an unscrewable plate there. You're talking about the plate just in front of the Gold Mount, correct? If so, fuggitaboutit. (unless you unscrew more of the case in order to remove that solid bit I found.... but I wasn't interested in dissambling my camera this AM.)

Interesting.

You're talking about the plate just in front of the Gold Mount, correct?

Yup, smallish plate on top of the camera just behind the handle.
If it was Rx compatible, there would be a fairly deep rectangular hole with a 25 pin D-sub connector at the bottom.

The plate is probably there to allow other accessories or brackets to be fitted in future.

Not sure about the 500 but the 2000 will work. The slot in the 500 might be there but maybe to build iit for less they did not put in the electronics. My $100.00 opinion.

PS. I use the ST 835AT on my 2000 and love this mike.

Hey Mule,

How do you like the 2000? Are your clients liking it? Are you going to get the AVC Intra card for it when it is available? One of the production houses here has a 3000 on order, and I know of at least one 500 locally, but I'm looking real hard at the 2000. Just trying to figure out the workflow for those fly-in/out producers.

I miss your Ikegami ITC-730 icon. That was one of my favorite tube cameras. Looked MUCH better than the Panasonic 777's and 555's I used before it.
