Driftwood Hack, AF100 Samurai ADVICE, please

My 02 - have you decided if you're delivering for a theatrical release, or for television? If it's theatrical, shoot at 24fps in both countries, but I'd shoot with a 1/50th shutter in the UK and a 1/60th in the US (shutter at native mains frequency to minimise flicker from street lights etc). Strangely, today I was cutting footage from an AF101 and a hacked GH1 today (lpowell's 75mbps patch) and they looked very good against each other..
So aiming for Theatrical, worst case straight to DVD. With regards to the street lights, we only have three exterior night shots. Two night establishing shots, and one car ride. Assuming we shoot in London, are you recommending shooting 1/50th just for those shots or the entire time?

I'm reccommending you shoot at the same frame rate in both countries (24fps) and shoot at 1/50 shutter speed (180 degree shutter rule). However, you may run into light flicker problems in the US due to mains frequency of 60hz - in which case, shoot with a 1/60 shutter if you get problems. You should should some tests before principal photography and evaluate your footage on a grade 1 monitor..

Yes, got the 24p, but you mention 1/50 and 1/60 UK/US to minimize flicker from street lights. I'm deducing you didn't mean just streetlights, just any light plugged into mains. I've been shooting in the US, not paying any attention to shutter speed, and the footage is just fine. From DVX/HPX170, I've never bothered changing shutter speed. I haven't shot in London before but my partner with his AF101 has, so whatever shutter he shoots at to get flicker-free 24p, we'll probably shoot at that. Where my confusion came from was - streetlights, but it seems like you're saying whatever lights we plug in, practical, key and fill lights will give problems unless we change shutter to 1/50th or 1/60th depending on what country. Is this correct?

Same thing here... I am having trouble cutting the two together. Making them look the same seems to be not that easy.

Anyone here with settings for both that were at least close enough match so that it was easier to do the rest of matching on post.
