The following teaser trailer is of my new short film "Dreamsake". It's about a homeless man who has nothing to live for than discovers a dream. Suddenly he's found a reason in life strong enough to keep moving forward once more.

We shot the teaser today to get us all pumped up to shoot the actual short film in the near future. It's a volunteer project with no budget but I'm sure some money will be put into it later down the road. It was minus 20 outside and I knew I couldn't shoot long with my Canon 550D/T2i so we shot the outside stuff for a total of 7 minutes.
The audio is not very good because I used the mic on my SLR. And, as we all know, the internal mic in SLRs aren't very desirable. But, we shot it and intend on using a better mic for the actual short film.
Any comments in regards to what you see in this teaser is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looks good! def get a better microphone for the shoot. The sound quality and tone helps set the mood (sound is 90% of what you see they say!) So yes - def get that and think about how to capture sound just as you capture the images!
 
Sound is important yes. If you show people a scene with: bad sound, bad focus, bad framing bad light, they will have the most "difficulty" with the "bad sound".

They will probably not know what they hear wrong, but they will have a "bad feeling".

They will also have a "strange feeling" with a bad framing and bad focus. But if you have a very very very good acting, very very very good light, very very very good
framing, but bad sound... you're screwed.

With bad framing, bad focus but good sound, it still can be seen as "acceptable".

Which doesn't mean image and light is less important.
 
The teaser itself: in general it was nice to watch. But I would have shown more "poor guy" stuff. (looking for food in garbage, asking money to people...).

He does sleeps on the bench and there's the dialogue/VO also.

Anyway I'm waiting to see the short (well I'm not literary waiting of course....:p)

That's why it's called a "Teaser" :p Sorry I couldn't resist. Thank you for the comments dre83. Your input is greatly appreciated :) Can't wait for you to watch the whole short.
