This is a short film , I have done for the Shanghai short film Festival which this year the theme was erotica . ..it was shot with my old dvx100 NTSC. I still have it !
Starring Jon Benn , who played the big boss in the cult classic the" Way of the Dragon" with Bruce Lee . Please let me know your prospective on the film. It is an erotica martial arts comedy... if you need the password it is Pussycat ... with a capital P.. Enjoy

Overall it was good. The fight scene was very well shot and edited.

The Good:
The script was mainly good, if a bit out there.
Variety of shots were good.
Music was good.
Editing was good.
Choreography was good.
Woman was sexy.
The cat did great.
You had some great characters that match the Kung-fu movies of old.
Most sound FX were good and once again added to the kung-fu of old feel.

The Bad:
The sound was extremely uneven.
The acting was suspect in places and corney in others (corney you can live with, for a film like this).
Some of the dialogue in the script didn't work.
There was a couple of jump edits.
Some of the sound FX sounded cheap.

Overall, a nice fun film and I loved the edit in the fight scene. You just need to work on the sound. I give this 7 out of 10.

The fights are not very good. The people seem like they can indeed fight but they aren't choreographed well. Especially the woman. I was expecting it to be all cheese and then some kick ass martial arts. The girl was total eye candy and definitely funny, she had me cracking up. The guy turning into a cat was good too. But I think you guys should check out Todd Roy's Kwoon. They're a martial arts comedy crew and they do a lot of stuff like this. Before you even ask, in the clips below they're indeed fighting a mummy that's knows martial arts.

The fights aren't Jet Li but they're shot in a nice way and make enough contact that we're sold on the scene. The fighting scenes killed this for me. You want your audience to go from laughing to "Wow!". With a hottie like the girl in this it would be totally cool to see her bust some moves on the bad guys. Think Milla Jovovich in Ultraviolet or Michelle Yeoh and Ziyi Zhang in Crouching Tiger..

"The Stunt People" also do some funny films. "Contour" was a feature they did about a year or so ago. It was pretty funny but the martial arts was on par with HK and better than some of the stuff coming out of Hollywood. So check them out too. www.thestuntpeople.com

Speed up the fight four frames on hits and parry's and it'll sell better. The camera compositions during these moments are a lot more motivated than most of the work I see from work around here. I appreciate the frames I see and the direction that they're going.

Good action is tough to pull off. Keep going!

All you really need to do here is shoot from different angles and have the actors be more controlled. Send the girl to a martial arts boot camp. She has the look but not the moves.

Thanks everybody for your comments . I had so little time to prepare to fight sequence actually we went over the movements only once before shooting the shots... it was seven half days production and two weeks of postproduction , including music with no budget just a lot of good friends.. and tomorrow will be the Shanghai short film Festival premiere... wish me luck.
