Hi, I was in a hurry so I Dragged And Dropped the footage from my P2 Cards to my HardDrive.
I KEPT ALL THE HIERARCHY, All files and folders straight from the P2. (Even the "Lastclip.txt" file)

When I log and transfer in FCP I can see the shots, set my ins and out, clip name, Add to queue, etc... Until I start the transfer.

A red Exclamation point appears in the "Status" Column, when I right click on it, it says "No Data"

Sooooo..... Please, HELP ME!!

Thanks

How many GBs is the p2 folder on the hard drive?

Can you play the clips in the camera?

And is this the first time this has occurred?

Finally, confirm that you write protected the p2 card before copying.

P2 folder is 14.22gb
Yes, I was able to play the clips on the camera.
It's the first time I try this so yes, it's the first time it occurs :P
I am not sure what write protecting means... If you ment Right Protected... Then I have no idea how to do this.

I am not sure this changes anything but I dragged all the files and Folder into a Folder on my HD that I named "P2 1"

Thanks for taking the time to help!

There is a write protect tab on the back of the p2 card.

Move it to the left and it will show an orange tab.

Then mount the p2 card on your Mac, and option drag on the card to make an exact duplicate.

Make certain you don't have Perian install or running or an early version of FX Factory, and try the L/T function in FCP 6.0.x or later.

Thank you Jim.
I already found that link earlier today... But unfortunately a bit too late.
I will know for next time. But for now, i am stuck with a bunch of unusable footage untill I get my camera back for re-importing the footage.

Do you guys think the original files on the P2 card are still fine, so if I re-import everything will work?

Is Perian installed and running on your computer?

Do you have an early version of FXFactory installed?

I asked this earlier, but you didn't respond.

I have no idea what is Perian but I checked in my application folder and there is nothing named Perian
Same goes for FXFactory.

So, Finally, I got a P2 drive and retried to import the shots, turns out I get the same problem so the main files are corrupted.
(a weird thing about Pana's P2 drive is that you MUST have the write-protect turned off)
Anyways, I needed those shots more than anything, so I tried everything I could.
I managed to get them back using Compressor, problem is I don't get Audio, but I can always do the same with Audio if I really need it and sinc them in post... Very time consuming but I think it's the only way to make this work.

Don't you use Raylight? I install Raylight with every Intel Mac I build for government agencies that use P2. No transcoding for P2. Works pretty good. But, even though I install FCP on Macs, I don't use FCP. Too slow, too much rendering. I sometimes install GrassValley Edius on Bootcamp, and the clients are blown away how much real time there is. No rendering of anything. Best P2 workflow I've used. If you have bootcamp, it's worth the try.
