DR-HD100U firestore drive

Right, shipping this week on the 40G drives. I'm not sure on the 80G drives. NLE's with m2t support will be setup right out of the gate. I don't know about FCP and whether the m2t to MOV function is a part of the "A" upgrade. Further they list a "Pro" version that is intended for Liquid and Xpress which like demuxed files.

We'll see alot of things here probably next week.

Yes. Redundancy is the benefit of DTE. You still have the tapes to store in a safe place.

redundancy is a nice feature and peace of mind giver.

such a feature should also create a bigger comfort level when it comes to using the camera's tape drive as a deck. I think people are often way too anal about not putting too many hours on the tape heads.

I guess now is finding a place that has a good price on it. I see BH has the 40 for 1399. Haven't seen anything better than that.

Found a great price at Tape Works from Scott. I'll probably be getting it there once I hear some good stuff about it.

CA tax, for some reason, but I can fill out the form to deduct 5.25%, so it's a little better. Still beats BH prices. Wish I would have known about them when buying the camera. :)

Just ordered my camera from Tapeworks and can't say enough good things about them. Scott is GREAT, very patient and informed.
Hey, I paid almost 9% in sales tax for ordering the camera from Phoenix. thats $500 Probably could have flown there and bought it in person and saved a few $$
