DP's experienced with HVX for NYC feature

I'm a bit of a lurker here, so I'm not sure if this is the right protocol, but what the hell. I've picked up a bunch from reading this board, as someone who comes from more of a producing background, so I thought I'd post it.

Anyway, I'm one of the producers of a low-budget teen thriller, shooting in NYC from August 6 to 26 on Panasonic HVX200's.

The person we were most interested in working as our DP doesn't have much experience with the HVX, and my gut tells me that we're better off with someone who has spent some time with the camera, especially considering the speed that we will need to work to knock off 90 pages in 18 days.

Anyway, I thought I would open the door to receiving reels from folks who are NYC-based and comfortable/experienced with the HVX. We would prefer experience shooting thriller/horror/action, as it is a pacy, fun film. It is a paid gig, with some deferred.

You can email me at kris.stewart@redsandmedia.com. Thanks guys, from the lurker ...

i think you're wrong - a camera can easily be learned - a good DP is hard to come by. The HVX camera is not rocket-science.

My suggestion would be to post this in the jobs forum. Also put in how much you will be paying and how much will be deferred. This will save you having to read a lot of emails from people that aren't interested in the pay scale or deferement.
