Downloading to a MacBook Pro

I'm having trouble downloading from the camera to my MacBook Pro. I've connected the camera via Firewire but my computer can't seem to see the P2 card. Also the P2 card access lamp on the back of the camera is staying solid green and I thought it should be flashing orange when it's connected.

I've installed the software from the disc that came with the camera and I know the cable is good because it works with my DVX100. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I've never had to install any software to access my HVX on my G5. Just make sure the cam is set to firewire device in the menu options and plug it in. The hold down the cam/vcr button for a couple seconds till it switches over to device mode. The the P2 card will pop up on the desktop.
