I shot a party video on a sony minidv consumer camcorder and I worked very hard on the editing and I just wanted to show you guys and some of my friends.

How do I make the file on my harddrive available for download? It's five minutes of AVI.

Are there any websites that permit me to upload such a large file?
 
Maybe, but I wouldnt want to download it. Compression is your friend. Can you make a WMV or MOV file from your NLE? You would definetly get more feedback.
 
what program are you editing in? usually open the file and then file>export>quicktime> then work through the settings
