Just a FYI to anyone who has been interested in a comprehensive book on the Sony F55 camera. I believe it's something like 300 pages and can be purchased on itunes.

I have seen a sample excerpt and can vouch it's well laid out and professional.

Cheers,.

P.S. I have no affiliation with Doug, or his book.

The Vortex guides are always an awesome resource (more information than you'll ever get from Sony!)....... Any idea if Doug will be releasing a hardcopy? I'm tempted to download it now, but maybe I'll hang out for the hardcopy version.

Sorry, there are is no hard copy planned at this time. The cost of printing and shipping is just too high, plus it would be too quickly outdated. Thanks for asking, and thanks for the nice comment about the previous books.

I have not found a way to do a secure PDF version. If you know of one, please send me a private message because I would be interested in investigating it.

Thanks Doug!

Thanks Doug!

I just purchased an F55 2 weeks ago and downloaded your book tonight. I found it to be extremely helpful and have already answered dozens of questions for me. I am sure I will refer to it many times. I already feel 10 times more comfortable with the camera after reading just a few chapters. Thanks Doug!

Thanks Dave! That was EXACTLY my goal when I started the project in the first place. I couldn't have summed it up any better than that if I had written your post myself. Thanks for letting me know I hit the mark, that is great to hear.

No, the camera is much too complicated to cover in a training video. It would have to be 10 hours long and you'd never be able to remember what you saw.

Doug,

Will the document evolve with the changes in firmware? Will there be a fee for this or a free update like an app in the app store?

Jason

Jason,

My intent is to update the book within a few weeks of every firmware upgrade. I'm 99% that people who already own the book will get a notification that a new version is available and will be able to download it for free. At least that is how I hope it works. This is new territory for me and I don't want to go too far out on a limb and guarantee that's how it works until I actually see it happen. But that is my intent and I will do everything in my power to make sure everyone's books stay updated and that they do not have to pay for those updates. Thanks for asking.
