If the lens is well reviewed, yes. Not all lenses are/were created equal- read reviews for specific lenses.
I have a large mix of both Nikon and Canon FD lenses including Nikon 17-35 2.8/28-70 2.8/80-200 2.8/24 2.0/35 2.0/50 2.0/85 2.0 and Canon FD 24 2.0/35 2.0/50 1.4/85 1.8/100 2.0/135 2.0 and they all perform great on my GH2.
