i almost never come into the HVX200 section anymore...too much bullshit being tossed around. it was fun when all the new info started coming in...but now it feels like a cesspool. i for one am excited to see what panasonic has to offer.

as for all the bullshizzle...

Okay Glenn, so now that we have the encylopedia version, what is it that you are saying here?

So are you saying that you are wanting to start a war against this camera? Are you sure about that? Are you technologically founded to be able to stand the discussion? Which side are you on?

Anyhow, sounds like a pretty explosive word to desribe a discussion.

Jan, I honestly don't know how you can stand the constant barrage of criticism for a product as amazing and potentially revolutionary as the HVX. As far as I'm can tell, you made all the right compromises to bring a truly 1080p HD camer to the masses for $6k. You should be commended for your work.

I can see that your team had to make a decision--jam color-and-interframe-supercompressed-HD content onto DV tape or create a whole new way to record true HD that didn't involve a $25k DVCPROHD deck slapped into a handheld camera. The solution--P2 cards--was an ingenius one. Give the masses 4:2:2 color depth 1900x1080p HD using rewritable ultra-fast flash cards. Have them dump the good takes to cheap standard off-the-shelf FW drives--then resue the cards. No tape transport problems and no "capturing" tape to HDD in an extra step.

Bravo, I say.
 
Hey Jan, I can only asume you were involved in the DVX's release, is this correct? Was there this much debate and FUD?
 
lol yeah, Barry is right. I was only making a light joke in reference to the fanatical hate which this cam seems to have bought on. Personally, I love the ideal of this cam!

People need to remember, Panansonic is a business, it's not a religious institution that is responsible for the salvation of miserable souls. The people that complain about this camera will be the last ones to make anything great, cause movie making is all about ingenuity and adapting. Those who innovate and adapt NEVER sit around complaining because they're always happy to have options. And that's exactly what this cam is, a new option.
 
..lets not go there guys. its may be silly to you, but its not to others.

i beleieve were all pretty much in the same boat here as to the recent rash of stuffs and our feelings towards them.
