That looks a lot safer than what I've seen in the past. For a change, I was in front of the camera for a web-based running commercial, and the filmmaker was sitting on the handlebars of a small BMX bike being ridden by a friend. I was running down the sidewalk in front of them (for probably 2 hours), and I was sure they were going to bite it big time. Only one small issue, and the camera op managed to jump off the bike in time.

Here's the video: http://www.brooksrunning.com/Fun+Stuff/Watch+Videos/Brooks+NightLife+in+Action/694

I was also rollerblading backwards with the DVX on a Merlin when I hit a crack and went down.

Good times. What fun is it if you dont use the stuff?

Rollerblading with a steadicam... That inspires me to get out and try that sometime!

And the countless times of filming skateboarding on a skateboard, and finding the only pebble in the lot. SSSKKKKRRRT. A noise I know too well. I guess I have paternal instincts, as I curl my body around the camera before it can hit the ground.

The other night, they were moving the crane and set it down. The camera was as high as possible, and everyone saw it dropping down to the ground. I don't remember the next 3 seconds. Somehow I got there, and slid under the camera. Forgot about how much that stuff hurts.

phhh, whatever. nothing compares to trying to film a metal show in a crowded bar in the middle of a mosh pit, standing on two milk crates, with two friends standing around you as your 'bodyguards'. unreal!!!!!!!!
