"Domino"

Great fun flick. loved the cinematography. Tony Scott kept me guessing were this would go. Micky Rourke is back and as badass as ever! Keira Knightly rocks! Not bad on the eyes also. If you like guns and alot of action this is it. Christopher Walken plays the perfect Reality T.V. producer. A lot of fun this one. I enjoyed it alot.

Keira Knightly is hot. and its a change for her from her previous roles as "the pretty girl" this time shes a badass. i saw an esquire mag on the racks and it shows her whole boob in there. haha

as for the movie i enjoyed it, but at times it seemed just a little cheesy. i enjoyed the cinematography though.

hmm i dunno how to feel about this movie, cinema was great but i was bombarded with images and not so much story. and i expected more you know like man on fire. i dunno i got mix feelings on it. it was ok.

Tony Scott makes my head hurt. Man on Fire was dreadful and I doubt I will see Domino even though Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) wrote the script.

Waste of time.

Fortunately, I saw her *bleepitybleepbleepbleepers*, so I got that going for me.

I didn't like Donnie Darko, so I'm not going to see this for the script.
Man on Fire sucked really bad.

That leaves Keira. I'll download BLOOP pics instead.

cinematography is amazing. Silly story, fun flick... didn't love it, didn't hate it. Not sure if this was the tribute the real Domino Harvey would have wanted.

The editing is crazy. Like there was a rule to not hold on one shot for more than 2 seconds. Sort of felt like they just shot a ton of random footage handed it over to an editor and said "good luck, bet you 5 bucks you can't make a story out of this."

I did love the fact Ian Zierling and Brian austin Green were in the movie as themselves!

Although I am a fan of Keira, can we refrain from the non-stop mention of her 'Boobies' for the sake of our member's who don't appreciate the remark?

Thanks.

its wierd to see mickey rourke smile...like at the end of the trailer...he looks younger there.

ill probly wait to see this on dvd.

That is precisely why I want to see it! I love Christian Wagner. Not a lot of people like his style, but I think he does some AMAZING stuff. The man is an artist. Tony Scott obviously likes working with him, since they've been together for 18 years. I just think his best work is when he does the really random edits (i.e. Spy Game, Man on Fire, Domino).

I totally dug this movie!

Contrary to some comments here there is a plot, it's just not revealed linearly, not every movie should be straight forward and have big global issues on its mind and I'm cool with that. Maybe some people were just too focused and checking out the things we are not to speak of anymore and got lost

DOMINO drips with style. The style is running off the screen it's so heavy. Definitely if you couldn't handle "Man on Fire" for this reason stay away from Domino, it's Man on Fire x 2 for style (and personally I loved MOF too).

Keira Knightley does an amazing job! The movie is on her shoulders, she doesnt once seem like a weak little girlie, from the get-go I believed in her character, no questions asked. Personally I was already a fan, now I'm totally hooked, the Brit has talent - I hear too she may get an Oscar nod for "Pride and Prejudice"... Rourke continues his comeback streak, nice job. Ramirez, the cast's newcomer was entertaining as well and I enjoy the subtle moments of lust and torture b/w him and Domino.

Call me crazy but I had a blast with this movie! It was one of those movies you can actually call a "ride" and mean it. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not, if you liked the remix-style trailers you're gonna enjoy the movie. I think it's great that Tony Scott wants to shake-up the general by-the-books style of filming/editing too, I can't believe some of you up-and-comers being annoyed by his hand-cranked, 7 cameras blazing, frenzied approach. It's taking cinematic risks in the mainstream, you gotta appreciate that!

P.S. - the real Domino Harvey was on the set during some of the filming and apparently was happy with her translation to screen. If you watch the end credits she appears after Keira and she also did the dialogue in the "Heads you live, tails you die" song...

yea but she was a lesbian in real life i heard she was kinda upset about it but will shes ghone now.

Lots of questions as to how "true" the story is.

For example, she's supposed to be a "model," but no one seems to be able to produce any actual photos of her AS a model.

Wow, can't believe so many rips on MAN ON FIRE. I loved it ... just something about seeing that retribution played out ... especially when you're thinking they really killed the little girl. I couldn't WAIT to see what Denzel's character was going to do to the next person. YEAH, KILL HIM!

Maybe I'm just a twisted sickie that loves watching violence, but I normally don't ... just loved that retribution that was being dished out.

You're not a twisted sickie (or we both are!). It was a great film. People just can't digest the style, and I seriously feel that's the majority of people's problems with DOMINO as well. I can handle people bitching that the style ruined the movie for them in the IMDB message boards *cause they don't know any better) but I'm kinda shocked when indie filmmakers say it.

And leaving out the lesbian stuff, yeah so what, it's not a documentary, this movie was more about the family she found in her group of bounty hunters and a day in the life kinda tale.

As far as style, I'm actually a fan of the editing as well in MAN ON FIRE. Not a movie the wife & I will want to watch once a week, but probably every few months or so.
