Dolly alternative

The wheels do turn. I don't use this yet but was checking it out at the store and it seems pretty stable and the big pneumatic wheels should provide a nice smooth ride.

True, it is kind of bulky and would be a pain in the butt to transport all over the place.

If I grab one I will make a post with my review of it.

I've seen the craziest things turn into dollies, its not even funny. Honestly, anything with wheels can be turned into a dolly..ANYTHING!

Absolutely.

Nothing beats the wheelchair for a cheap solution. Their wheels are generally designed for a smoother, quieter ride then most other cheap solutions. They are design to collapse for easy transport and are a nice way to get around after a long day.

They can easily be found on places like Craigslist for less the a hundred bucks.

I am waiting for someone to use the Segway as a dolly :)

Cheers

OMFG, I was kidding. I guess dolly grips are going to have start looking for another line of work.

In all seriousness, although it won't replace the traditional dolly, it will make for some interesting steadi-cam shots. I already though of a couple of pretty cool shots we could do with this thing. Do you know if that thing has variable speed?

My mind has just been blown, thanks Mikko

i wouldnt trust that thing when no one is standing on it

100 or so sandbags might keep it stable. :)

Actually the steadi-cam arm should detach easy enough that you should never have to leave it unattended (I am guessing).

Cheers

I have that "Lowe's Dolly Cart". I actually use it for carrying all my equipment when I need to shoot off-road.

How smoothly does it roll? Would a dude with a camera be enough weight to offset the knobliness of the tires?

I really like the prospect of hauling equipment.
