DOF adapters - what focal length (equiv) is commonly used?

I have a chance to pick one of these up (a Brevis unit) on the super-cheap, and figure what the heck. One thought was to occasionally use it with the AF100/GH2 to get that "full frame" aesthetic... those are really specialty shots anyway. I figure the sharpness hit might bring the GH down to 5Dish softness at worst. I want to make sure I'm using the fastest, crispest lens possible on the back side, though, and need an idea of any weight and size that might entail...

...so with the HVX, what is the usual ballpark equivalent focal length necessary to fill the screen with the ground glass?
 
i'm using a Letus adapter on a HVX, my zoom is about 80%, means 338mm focal length as the full zoom of the HVX is 423mm, 35mm equivalent.
don't know what the distance from the brevis flange to the ground glass is - somwhere in dis focal length range would be fine...
i would suggest you a zoom lens - some lenses connected to those adapters cause a vignette on the GG - this would be uesful to crop the image a bit more to avoid the vignetting...

it's not gonna work with either of those cams the way it was designed. But as you said for a trippy effect it may be worth trying.
 
With the HVX the backfocus zoom is set in the macro range. It will also depend on what spacers, achromatics and flip modules between the HVX and the ground glass. I have a redrock M2e flip, 72mm achromatic and no spacers in front of my HVX and zoom between Z25 and Z55 on my HVX. This results in a range between 35mm full frame and something quite close to a cropped s16 frame. My previous set up with an M2, 55mm achromatic and spacers was different but it was also in the macro range of the zoom. Hope that helps.
