Does your state do this? (Shot with Sony 18-105 zoom on FS700)

Got my new 18-105 power zoom lens in just in time (literally
the morning of the same day I was hired for this job) so I could
use it on a neat little holiday video for the new Governor of Alaska.
Every year, a couple weeks before Christmas, the Governor's
mansion is opened to the public who get to meet the Governor
and eat plates of cookies and fudge....very popular with the kids
around here :) Shot with the Sony FS700 using the 18-105 power zoom.
Happy Holidays everyone!

Great video. I love this lens on the FS700.

In the UK, you can visit Buckingham Palace at certain times of the year. And we have many stately homes like the governor of alaska's mansion. As a matter of fact I shot a wedding this year in one of them.

Did you install the latest FS-700 update that enables distortion correction with this lens? The lens does have a very useful zoom range. I'm thinking about the new 28-135 power zoom soon to be out (5X as expensive), but unfortunately it's more of a telephoto zoom when used with a super 35 imager. I also want to be able to shoot 4K RAW into my O7Q, which I believe disables the in-camera distortion correction for the 18-105, otherwise I'd seriously consider buying the 18-105 instead.

Really? Can you (or anyone else) confirm that the in camera distortion correction is disabled when outputting 4K?

But you can shoot 240 internally without getting that horrible 'pincushion'
distortion which is strange because Sony said the correction would only work up to 60p.

It may make sense since the 240fps buffer may store raw or uncompressed frames and the distortion correction may be applied at the time of buffer readout and encoding, which occurs at 1080p60. Just a theory.

You may be right. I wasn't expecting it to work for anything higher than 60fps
because of an interview I saw with Juan Martinez. But I just tried it tonight
after hearing rumors it would work. Sure enough.....
And the footage from this lens actually looks pretty good.
You'd never guess it was the same lens with that horrible
distortion.
