I am trying to use the Vegas Media Manager to locate MIDI files on my computer. I know I have quite a few of them with the extension .mid. However, even with the MIDI checkbox ckecked in the Add Files to Media Library, Vegas does not find any files. It also will not allow me to import MIDI files from Explorer or File/Import.

(The files play fine in Windows Media Player)

Any suggestions as to how to get Vegas to recognizwe MIDI files?

Thank you in advance.

Dan

It won't. You'll have top play them in something else and record the output as .wav or some other "real" audio file.

I play them with my Audigy and record them in Audacity.

The Media Manager is also used in Sony's Acid product, which does support midi playback. So it's possible that you may be able to view files in the Media Manager that Vegas does not support.
